LEFKE, Northern Cyprus – Every Saturday, the campus of the European University of Lefke (EUL) becomes a meeting point where students from different countries come together to relax and have fun. Organised by the Social and Cultural Activities Center, the “Happy Saturdays at EUL” event series offers students a weekly escape from their busy academic schedules.

According to the university’s official news, the initiative runs throughout the semester and welcomes enthusiastic participation from students every weekend. The main goal is to help students connect, relieve stress, and enjoy a variety of fun activities organised by different faculties.

The last Happy Saturday event, which took place on 9 May 2026, was organised with the contributions of the Faculty of Architecture and Design and Design Club. The campus was filled with energy as students took part in creative workshops, competitions, and stage performances throughout the day.

Speaking about the series, the organisers stated that “Happy Saturdays” help build a stronger campus community and give international students a chance to socialise outside of the classroom. The spring semester programme recently continued with new activities featuring tournaments, creative workshops, and performances by international student communities.

“Happy Saturday is something I really look forward to every week,” said Alua Abir a second‑year student from Kazakhstan. “We dance, join workshops like mask painting , and just enjoy the campus atmosphere with friends. It makes the weekend feel special.”

With free food, live music, and a welcoming environment for everyone, “Happy Saturdays at EUL” have become one of the most popular traditions on campus. To stay updated on upcoming events, students can follow the university’s official announcements.
