On the 9th of May 2025, Lefke won the Daikin Cyprus Cup, organized by the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation (KTFF). In the final match played at Atatürk Stadium, Lefke defeated Mağusa Türk Gücü with a score of 3-1. In the final match played in front of a large crowd which include groups of EUL teams such as GfbLau, UltraaslanLau and CarsiLau. With their contribution,  the crowd and the fans were bigger in number compared to the opposition. Christopher Fourmy scored the goals that brought Lefke the championship in the 19th and 88th minutes (both from penalties), and Armstrong Chidi scored in the 64th minute. MTG’s goal came from Erhun Öztümer’s penalty in the 25th minute. Armstrong chidi also said that: “to win this title was a very hard mission as it is a very important cup for the island and thanks to fans we were successful”.

Fourmy also became the top scorer of the Cyprus Cup with his two goals, bringing his total goal count in the cup to 9. Source: Lefke made history Founded in 1943, Lefke Turkish Sports Club reached the Cyprus Cup final for the fourth time in its history and won its third Cyprus Cup championship after 11 years. The team, wearing purple and white (Lefke), had previously won this cup in 1972 and 2014. 

This event relates and concerns our school from close range as half of the fans in the arena were from European University of Lefke. Not only is Lefke the team of the town, even the club’s name represents people of Lefke and it was a great and unforgettable night in the capital.
